Get Clued: Teri's Idea (a.k.a. the Guidelines )
Teri just finished reading the opening scene of "Get Clued" where Xander and the gang decided to play "Clue".
"Whoever decided to start that round robin must be a genius." She grinned wondering who it was who thought of it. "I love 'Clue'" She said aloud as she pouted slightly. No one would ever play with her because she always won.
She glanced over at her video tape collection (those things that came before DVD's) of almost twenty-four years deciding that she didn't have the ambition to search for her copy of 'Clue' she taped long ago.
It was then that inspiration struck. "Perhaps, I can get the members of the XanderZone to play with me?" She thought for a moment before she winced glad she hadn't made that comment while on-line. imagining the comments that people like Brian, Vega, or any of the other sick, perverted, minds on that list, would make if she had. Oh well, it wasn't important she knew what she meant. She always knew what she meant, of course sometimes she was the only one. Odd that.
"I am going to get the members of the XanderZone to play 'Clue.'" She grinned as she tried to figure out how to go about it.
"First thing I need is a few rules." She pulled out a pad of paper and a pencil. (For the kids on the list who may not understand what that is, paper and pencil is what we old fogies used before they invented personal computers. *g*) She began to think of what rules would be needed to make sure that the round robin proceeded in a clear and orderly fashion.
After a few a few minutes, she knew what the rules should be and she wrote them out carefully. . . .
Teri looked over the list and was pleased. Believing she covered everything she smiled. Now that she went to all the trouble to set everything up, she hoped someone would decide to join her in a game of 'Clue' and not leave her hanging looking like an idiot.
She held out the dice in front of her. "Okay, who's first?"
Buffy, Xander, Willow, and Oz were sitting at the table in the library. Giles was hovering and re-shelving books. For once there were no pressing bad guys, no impending doom. . . . Well, maybe there was one impending doom - Xander wanted to have a group bonding night. He wanted to play "Clue".
"This is a silly game Xan!" Buffy complained. "Mr. Body was found in the foyer and they can't even tell if he was killed with the knife or the candlestick?"
"Yeah," Willow piped up, "the wounds would be very different. See a knife wound would be kind of open and . . . "
"Wills, that isn't the point." Xander sighed. "I just wanted us to spend some non-'the world is about to end' time together. No blood or killing."
"So, pretend death is far superior to real death?" Oz raised an eyebrow. The girls giggled.
"Fine, let's put this at a different level, something more challenging. Let's say, I found Buffy dead . . . " Xander was cut-off by Buffy.
"Hey? Why me?"
"You are the slayer, sacred birthright, and all that aren't you?" Xander asked.
"Well, yeah." She was hesitant.
"See so it all always comes back to you; therefore, you die." Seeing Buffy's affronted look, he smiled. "Don't worry Buff, you won't stay dead as long as I am around."
He winked at her and the girls started to laugh. Even Giles and Oz had a small smile. All present knowing how true that statement was even if Xander meant it as a joke.
"Okay, so I find Buffy dead in the Library. . . "
"Giles!" Buffy called out teasing. "Xander is trying to kill me. Save me!"
Giles snorted slightly and walked over to the table. "This could be an excellent training opportunity in deductive reasoning." He thought for a moment. "Okay, if we are going to do this. Let's do it right. You can choose from the following weapons, Stake, Crossbow, Sword, Gun, Vampire, or Magic."
"Oh, this could be fun." Willow smiled finally getting into the game. "And the locations are here being the library, Buffy's House, Cemetery, Mall, Classroom, and uh . . . the Mansion?"
"Okay, if we are limiting things," Xander had a mischievous gleam in his eye. "Then we need to limit the suspects. I think it should just be us: Buffy, Willow, Oz, Giles, or Cordy."
"What about Wesley?" Willow asked (as an odd honeymoon with her and Wesley flashed before her eyes before she made the picture go away).
"Or my Mom. She has wanted to kill me a time or two." Buffy added.
"Angel," Oz added, "or Faith."
"So we have our list, Buffy herself, Willow, Oz, me, Cordelia, Wesley, Joyce, Angel, Faith, and you Xander." Giles summarized.
"Hey, I would never kill the Buff!" Xander protested.
"And I would?" Willow asked.
Buffy smiled at him. "If I have to die, you have to kill me at least once."
"Buffy!" Willow called.
Buffy was confused for a second then realized that it sounded really weird asking for someone to kill her. Oh, well, such was life in Sunnydale.
Xander rolled his dice. "Six - the Library." I get the first theory.
"Okay, here is how I think it happened . . . ."
