Gone

Author: Anne Ly Chau <sUpErGuR1[at]hotmail.com>

Summary: Sometimes you never know what's in front of you until it's gone... What happens when a certain "Scooby" is pushed too far? Will he be able to get back up or disappear forever in the darkness?

Time Frame: Oh screw the seasons! I can't remember there were so many. So instead I'll tell you all the what's. Willow is with Oz as Buffy is with Angel. Xander, however, is not with Cordelia like the show so they are still bickering with each other. Giles, of course, is here with Ms. Calendar alive and well. Since she's alive and well, it's obvious that Buffy hadn't slept with Angel at all. Also no Dawn and no Faith or Wesley. oOoOo, also they are all still in high school obviously and are in sophomore or junior year. That's all... I think. If I add in someone else I forgot to mention, I'll be sure to tell you all then and I'm sorry for any inconvenience(s) if I do do that. Sorry but I forgot to mention about Joyce, her not being dead and all. I think that's it now...

Disclaimer: Sorry, nope, I don't think so! Not my! Just the story I made up, besides... if the show did belong to me some wacky out takes might have happened already with no reasonable or any answers why.

Chapter 1
Vampires

At the cemetery...

"Xander, look out!"

Turning around quickly, Xander was only met by an upper cut from a vampire.

˜This one will be an easy prey! ˜

Flying into the air about 10 feet, Xander soon landed on a tombstone only to have it break from the force of the impact. Trying desperately to get up, Xander had managed to be on all fours before being kicked in the stomach from the same vampire who had punched him earlier.

*****

Executing a punch and a kick to the stomach, that was all that was needed to send the vampire face first into the dirt.

Snarling to the attack, the vampire soon got up only to be staked in the heart.

"Damn..." was all that the vampire could say before it turned to dust.

"Man cough, cough you guys need to learn to clean up after yourselves." Buffy had said as she waved her hands around trying to blow the dust away from her face.

Turning around, Buffy had managed to see her Xander-shaped friend about to get another kick from the same vampire.

"Xander!"

Running towards the unfair fight, Buffy was soon to be surrounded by 3 more vampires.

"Hello Slayer!" Vampire1 said while grinning.

˜God, does everyone know these days?! ˜

Looking around, Buffy had surveyed her surroundings. Seeing that it was just three vampires, Buffy knew that this would be no hassle.

"Do you all travel in packs or are you all just too stupid to do anything yourselves?" Buffy had shouted in response.

Growling to her reply, Vampire1 had quickly ran to charge the blond slayer only to be pushed aside and tripped.

"Opps!" Buffy had said mockingly.

"You won't be so lucky with me!" Vampire2 shouted.

Also charging at Buffy, Vampire2 was trying to tackle her down.

Seeing Vampire2 coming at her, Buffy delivered a kick to the stomach as Vampire2 stumbled backwards a couple of steps. Just as that kick was given Vampire3 had managed to throw in a punch at Buffy's face.

*****

Grabbing his stomach from the pain being emitted, Xander was soon grabbed by his hair.

"Huh, looks like you will be easier than I thought. I guess that you're nothing without the Slayer to come and help you." The vampire had said.

Looking up into the vampire's yellow eyes without fear, Xander started to smile.

˜Why is he smiling? Doesn't he know he's staring death in the face right now?! ˜

"Oh don't think so!" Xander had replied as he motioned for the vampire to look down.

Upon doing so, the overconfident vampire had saw that a stake had been embedded into his undead heart.

"FU-" was all that he could say before combusting into dust.

*****

Smiling to himself at his accomplishment at the successful blow, he was soon interrupted by his triumph.

"Oh don't get too cocky with yourself!" Buffy shouted at Vampire3.

A second after her remark, Buffy was right in Vampire3's face as she returned him the same punch he had given her except with a little more power behind it. After that she had did a roundhouse kick, which sent Vampire3 flying to the ground.

Whipping out a stake from her jacket, Buffy prepared to stake Vampire3 but was suddenly grabbed from behind.

"What the?!" Buffy had exclaimed as she had dropped her stake from the surprise.

"Miss me?" Vampire1 had asked while keeping his arms around Buffy preventing her from doing anything.

"Why would I?"

"Aww, you hurt my heart. Oh wait, I don't really have one!" Vampire1 said as a remark.

"You couldn't come up with a-" Buffy had started to say until she saw Vampire2 starting to come at them.

Doing some quick thinking, Buffy had pushed her feet off the ground as she counted on Vampire1 on keeping her from falling as her legs landed perfectly around Vampire2's head.

"Perfect!" Buffy exclaimed as she continued on.

"What the f-" but was cut short as Buffy had snapped Vampire2's head.

His limp body falling down, Buffy's feet were soon back on the ground.

Shocked from the sudden attack on his fellow friend, Vampire1 was brought out of it as Buffy used the back of her head to slam it into Vampire1's face.

"You B****! You broke my nose!" Vampire1 shouted as he loosened his grip on Buffy and started putting his hands over his broken nose.

"Oh, that's not all I'm gonna do to you!" Buffy had started as she continued on with her assault.

Grabbing his arm as she flipped Vampire1, who now landed in front of her on the ground, Buffy quickly grabbed the stake she had dropped earlier from the floor. Then with one fluid motion Buffy had staked Vampire1.

"And that's Miss Super B**** to you!" Buffy had finished off as Vampire1 started to turn to dust.

*****

Lying against the tombstone that had broken earlier from his landing, Xander had saw that Buffy was doing fine by herself at the moment.

˜Looks like Buffy's okay, but maybe I should... ˜

"Ow!" Xander had shouted from the sudden shock of pain coming from his ribs.

˜Okay, maybe not. I'll just sit her and wait until she really needs backup. ˜

*****

Turning her head slightly to the direction of where Xander was, Buffy had seen that he was all right as she gave him a smile.

˜I guess he can handle some things himself. ˜

Focusing back to her current fight, Buffy had saw that Vampire2 was starting to revive from the broken neck she had given him earlier.

Walking over to where Vampire2 had laid on the floor, Buffy waited till he was fully back.

Opening his eyes, Vampire2 was only met with the fair face of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

˜Crap! ˜ was the last thought he would ever have.

"Hi! And Bye!" Buffy had said before she had staked his undead heart.

˜Okay, now where is the other idiot vampire?! ˜

Looking around her, Buffy was only met by a couple of dust piles but no Vampire3 around.

˜Guess he ran when he could... Damn! ˜

Seeing Xander still lying against the half-broken tombstone, Buffy rushed over to him.

"Are you okay Xander?" Buffy had asked with concern in her voice.

˜If only that concern was for more than a friend. ˜

Smiling sadly to himself, Xander soon looked up only to have their eyes connect with each other's.

˜Why does he seem so sad all of a sudden? If that vampire had hurt him more than I thought, I would so- ˜

Interrupted from her thoughts by Xander's voice, Buffy had quickly listened to see what he was saying.

"Oh, I'm okay Buffy. This tombstone here broke my fall!" Xander said while putting on his lopsided smile.

˜There's Xander for ya! ˜

"So I see." Buffy had said as she pointed towards the broken tombstone.

Standing up, Xander was once again met by the unbearable pain coming from his ribs.

"Ahh!"

"Xander are you all right?!"

"Yes, yes. Probably broken a rib or two, nothing to fret about."

"Xander, maybe you shouldn't-" Buffy had started only to be cut off.

"Buffy, please don't start. I choose to be here for you, especially if you might need me. So nothing you would say no wait or anybody could say that would in fact make me leave you alone to do your job."

˜Especially since I care a great deal for you Buffy. ˜

After the small speech Xander had given to Buffy, Buffy had thought that she felt something flutter in her heart.

˜He's here for me no matter what? ˜

As Buffy was about to continue her thoughts more deeply about Xander, it was soon cut short as someone else had appeared.

"Are you two okay? I heard some struggles so I came as fast as I could." Angel had started.

"I'm fine, but I don't know about Xander here." Buffy had replied to Angel's question.

"Buff I'm fine!" Xander had said as he started to straighten up by himself.

"OW!" Xander had exclaimed as he felt the pain once again.

"You were saying?"

"Come on Buff, besides this I'm as fine as I can be."

Raising an eyebrow at him, Xander had quickly submitted to her.

˜Damn! Why do I always do what she wants?! ˜

˜Maybe because you're in love with her. ˜ Xander's subconscious had stated.

˜Shut up! ˜ Xander had replied to his subconscious.

Still watching the two, Angel started to feel suspicious about a certain blonde slayer.

˜Is Buffy in love with... No, besides she's in love with me. ˜

"Come on Xander, let me help you. I'll take you back to my house so I can help bandage you up." Buffy had said as she interrupted Angel's thoughts.

Putting one of Xander's arms around her neck as she carefully helped Xander stand up, Buffy soon turned her attentions back to Angel.

"Angel!"

"Huh?"

˜That's the first I have heard Dead boy say that. ˜

"You can go back to... where ever you came from. I'm gonna take Xander back to my house and help bandage him up. Then I'll come back to patrol with you. Is that okay with you?" Buffy had asked.

"Yeah sure." Angel replied as he started to walk away.

˜Remember, she loves you... right? ˜

After Angel had started to go, Buffy and Xander had followed suit in the direction of Buffy's house.

"Come on Xander, we need to get back to my house. Then we have to take off your shirt." Buffy had started as Xander interrupted.

"Couldn't wait to see me without my shirt huh?" Xander remarked as he gave her another one of his lopsided smiles.

˜Hmm... Xander with no shirt on. Stop it! You're with Angel. Man, where did that image come from?! ˜

"Xander I would drop you and walk off if you say something like that again!"

"No you wouldn't Buff. I mean what are you going to do without your Xander-shaped friend?"

˜If only I can be more than your Xander-shaped friend. ˜ Xander had thought right after.

˜Yeah, what would I do without him? ˜

"I'll just find another Xander-shaped friend." Buffy had replied after her thoughts.

"But no one as great as me!" Xander said quickly after as he tried once again to stand straight up by himself but quickly bent back down from his broken ribs.

"Yeah, sure. No one as great as you Xander." Buffy replied as she put one of his arms around her neck again.

Soon they were walking out of the cemetery as they stepped onto the streets.

-----

Back at the cemetery...

Behind one of the buses and hidden away in the shadows, a creature had laid with only two green flame-like eyes that told of its position.

Watching the two figures walking out of the cemetery, the creature had continued on with its observations until the two figures were gone form its sight.

"Het Nesoc No..."

Still crouching, the two green flame-like eyes soon rise as the creature stood up. Appearing to walk away, instead it continued standing there until its green flame-like eyes closed and it had disappeared out of sight. Leaving no trace of its existence, the creature continued on with its mission.

Chapter 2
Guests

At the steps of Buffy Summers' house.

"Are you sure you're okay Xander?" Buffy had asked.

"For about the hundredth time, yes Buffy I'm fine. Nothing that a certain Miss Buffy Summers can't fix." Xander had answered.

"Yeah, lets hope that I don't bruise you more than you already are. I'm not what you say nurse material. Here Xander, can you lean against the wall?" Buffy said as she slowly took Xander's arm off her.

"Yeah, but you would look good in a nurse outfit." Xander replied while grinning as Buffy took out her keys.

"In your dreams Xander, in your dreams." Buffy said as she opened the door to her house.

*****

At the Bronze.

Coming off the stage, Oz was suddenly in the embrace of an excited redhead.

"Oz, Oz! You were great!" Willow exclaimed as she jumped around.

"Whoa!" Oz said as he tried to calm Willow down.

"Sorry." Willow said in almost a whisper from embarrassment.

Soon the couple started walking back to their seats as they accidentally bumped into a brunette. Willow, looking up, saw that it was no other than Cordelia.

"Hey watch where you're going! I can't let my body be infected with your geekiness!" Cordelia shouted out rudely.

Bending his head down to one of Willow's wars, Oz had whispered to her, "Ignore her."

Continuing to walk away hands together, Oz and Willow was finally at their booth as they both sat down.

*****

"Geez, I guess the Bronze allows all kinds of people no matter who they are." Cordelia said to herself as she walked to her group of friends.

"Hey Cordelia, we saw what happened. Good thing you walked away as soon as possible before you became one of them." Harmony stated.

˜God if I could I would just leave these people, but I must maintain my popularity. ˜ Cordelia thought.

As Cordelia was continuing on with her thoughts, Harmony and her other annoying friends continued with their ongoing chatter.

˜Can this end any time soon! I feel like my head's gonna- ˜ Cordelia continued on with her train of thought until she was interrupted by a screeching voice.

"Ahh! Hey what is your problem?!" Harmony screamed.

Looking at the person,

Harmony had seen that it was a girl that had knocked into her, thus causing Harmony to spill the drink she was holding all over her dress.

"Do you know how much this dress cost?! How am I gonna get a stain like this off?!" Harmony continued on.

Staring at Harmony confused, the girl finally spoke out.

"What is so important about a dress?"

"Important? Important! Important?! Let me-" Harmony started to shout, but was cut off by one of her friends.

"Hey Harm, cool it. People are starting to stare." One of the girls in the group whispered to Harmony.

˜Yeah cool it? You deserved that spill anyways. God! I've. ˜ Cordelia had started to think, but was once again stopped by Harmony's voice.

"Cool it?! How can I-" Harmony had started to say, but was stopped as she saw from the corner of her eyes the girl that bumped into her walking away.

Turning and walking quickly towards the leaving girl, Harmony immediately grabbed her by one of the girl's shoulders with her hand.

"Hey, where do you think-" Harmony had managed to say before the girl suddenly grabbed the hand that was on her shoulder.

Once the girl had gotten a hold of Harmony's hand, she immediately twisted it enough to cause pain but no enough to cause any injuries. well serious ones anyway.

"Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Harmony said as soon as the girl grabbed hold of her hand.

*****

A few minutes earlier (Willow's view).

˜I wonder what's going on. ˜

"Hey Oz, what's happening?" Willow had asked.

"Some girl bumped into Harmony." Oz said as he continued on without words by simply pointing in the direction of where Cordelia, Harmony, and the rest of the group of girls were.

Following Oz's trail of path, Willow had laid eyes on the gigantic stain on Harmony's dress.

˜Oh my! ˜ Willow thought as she tried to stifle a laughter that was about to erupt.

"Important? Important! Important?! Let me-" Harmony started to shout, but was cut off by one of her friends.

Looking on, both Willow and Oz saw that one of Harmony's friends started whispering into one of Harmony's ears.

˜I hope that girl stops Harmony from screaming any more. My ears are starting to hurt. ˜

"Cool it?! How can I-" Harmony had started to say, but was stopped as she saw from the corner of her eyes the girl that bumped into her walking away.

"I hope that girl gets away before Harmony catches her Oz." Willow had whispered.

Nodding as a response that he hoped so also, Oz soon saw that besides them just about everyone in the Bronze was watching Harmony go at it.

A few minutes earlier (Cordelia's view).

"Hey Harm, cool it. People are starting to stare." One of the girls in the group whispered to Harmony.

"Cool it?! How can I-" Harmony had started to say, but was stopped as she saw from the corner of her eyes the girl that bumped into her walking away.

˜Oh God! She just can't let anything go! ˜

Turning and walking quickly towards the leaving girl, Harmony immediately grabbed her by one of the girl's shoulders with her hand.

˜That girl better run for it. ˜

*****

At the same time and moment.

˜WHOA! ˜ Cordelia, Willow, and Oz had thought at the same time and moment.

"Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Harmony said as soon as the girl grabbed hold of her hand.

Letting go of Harmony's hand, the girl had immediately apologized as she quickly walked away.

"I'm sorry." And with that the girl was gone and out of the Bronze.

As she was walking out, everyone had moved out of the way afraid of what she might do to them if they didn't. Looking around with a hint of sadness in her eyes, the girl was then out the door and engulfed into the shadows of the night.

"Geez, what was up with her?" said one of Harmony's friends as they started to crowd around her to check her injuries.

Rubbing her wrist, Harmony had tried to look all cool and act if nothing happened.

"Yeah, I mean "woke up on the wrong side of the bed today?"" Harmony replied back.

"She didn't even apologized for knocking into you too and giving you that humongous stain on your dress."

˜You should be happy that's all that she gave you. ˜ A figure from afar had thought after seeing the event that had occurred in the Bronze.

And with a turn, the figure had walked out of the Bronze following suit of the girl from earlier.

To be continued...
