INT- ABANDONED BUILDING-DAY
The building is old. It's also dark. The windows are all covered, but the wind
blows the coverings some that we can see daylight outside.
Gunn comes into view. He is holding an ax, and a flashlight. He is looking
around in every direction. Suddenly he ducks, as a vampire is thrown above
him. It crashes through a window, and disappears as it falls to the ground
three floors down.
GUNN
(looks over in the direction the vamp came from)
Damn, girl. Give me some warning next time.
Kristen comes into view. She is covered in sweat, holding a stake
with more on her belt. She leans against the wall to rest.
KRISTEN
Sorry. I kind of get in the zone when we do this.
GUNN
(shines his light on her)
You really got to slow down. I know you're a big bad
Slayer and all, but giving yourself a heart attack is not
going to be a good thing.
KRISTEN
I counted twelve. How many were in Cordy's vision?
GUNN
I think that's all of them. Now we... down!!
Kristen drops fast to the floor, as Gunn swings his ax where her head just was.
It connects with a vamp that was sneaking up behind her. The ax
decapitates the vamp, causing it to turn to dust. Gunn helps Kristen back up.
KRISTEN
Thanks.
GUNN
Don't mention it.
Fred, and Connor enter through a side door.
FRED
Wesley got the kids out the rear exit.
GUNN
(nods)
Then I guess we can head home.
CUT TO:
EXT- STREET OUTSIDE-DAY
Fred and Connor are already throwing weapons in the back of
Gunn's truck. Kristen stops Gunn just out the door.
KRISTEN
Can we hit KFC on the way home?
GUNN
What is it with you? Anytime we do some heavy
Slaying, you want to get a pound of extra crispy.
KRISTEN
(holds up her hands)
Okay, I can wait.
(under her breath while looking over at Connor)
But I might need a cold shower.

EXT- HYPERION HOTEL-NIGHT
CUT TO:
INT-KRISTEN'S ROOM-NIGHT
The bathroom door is only a bit opened. We can see light
coming from it, and hear a hair dryer going. The camera pans over
to the old-fashioned dresser. There are a few items on it. We look
at them as we go. Kristen's high school diploma from SOUTH
HIGH SCHOOL. A pic of Kristen with what must be her
family. An older couple, and two younger sisters. A pic of her in
her brown graduation gown with Tom and Julie. Finally, a frame
with two photos. One with her and Xander at the top of the Empire
State Building. And one with them at a beach.
The hair dryer shuts off. Kristen comes out with sweat pants,
and a blue sports bra on. A knock comes from the outside hallway,
causing her to grab a T shirt off the bed and slip it on before....
KRISTEN
Come in.
Lee sticks his head in the room.
LEE
You wanted to see me?
Kristen comes over, and pulls him into the room. She looks into the
hall for a moment, before closing the door.
KRISTEN
Does anyone know you're up here?
LEE
Just Wesley. But he's busy with the books Buffy had
me bring. What's up?
KRISTEN
(sitting on the bed)
I need to ask a favor.
LEE
(sits on the sofa)
Ask away.
KRISTEN
Look, I know I don't really know you that well. Hell,
this is the first time I've seen you since Xander left.
But I don't want Gunn or Wesley to do this. I'm
guessing Amanda has told you about Connor and me?
LEE
She said that you guys were kind of flirting, here and
there. But I haven't pried it all out of her yet.
KRISTEN
Well, I've been wanting to see if Connor knows the
difference from flirting and making out, to dating. He
did grow up without the birds and the bees talk from his
old man.
LEE
You want to ask him out?
KRISTEN
Yeah. Xander said that I would try to get a boyfriend
soon after I started with the Slayage. I still don't know how he
knew, but I've got to do something.
LEE
(grinning)
So the side effects are coming on strong, are they?
KRISTEN
(surprised)
You know about them? I was starting to think it was
just me. I didn't want to ask Wesley about it.
LEE
(still grinning)
Dawn told me about them a while back. After some
major fighting, Slayers tend to want to eat, or... you
know. Dawn said that's how Xander and Faith paired up.
Well, before she tried to kill him.
KRISTEN
(shocked)
Wait. Xander and the last Slayer were an item?
LEE
The story I heard was that Xander saved her from a
demon, and when they got back to her place Faith
was on a big adrenaline high. Apparently, didn't take much.
KRISTEN
Well, I would like to make sure Connor is not a
complete dumbass with women before I get a 'big
adrenaline high'.
DISSOLVE TO:
INT- HYPERION LOBBY
A bit later Lee is around the red couch, talking to Cordelia and Angel.
CORDELIA
So are you heading back tonight?
LEE
(shakes his head)
Thought I might as well hang out. It's Friday, so I don't
have any stuff at UC Sunnydale till Monday. Maybe take the
Hollywood tours. Or break into the Playboy Mansion. Helping
fight demons has to get me some points with the playmates.
ANGEL
Or, you can help us in some research. For weeks
now, we've been getting reports of some demon
hunters calling themselves the 'Four Horsemen'.
CORDELIA
(annoyed)
Yeah. I get the stupid visions, and a few times it's
already taken care of before we even get there. A
few vampire nests, and a pack of hellhounds at a
private college taken out by these horse guys.
LEE
Could it be like that thing Buffy's old boyfriend worked for?
ANGEL
(looks a tiny bit worried)
A government thing? The last thing we need is that
kind of a stupidity to start up again. Any government
operation against demons is bound to blow up in everyone's face.
I'd rather not be the forced cleanup crew on that.
Kristen walks into the lobby from the hallway under the stairs.
KRISTEN
There you are, Lee. Connor was looking for you.
LEE
(tries to hide a small smile)
Oh, he was?
KRISTEN
(nods)
He was by the pool table a few minutes ago.

INT-HYPERION POOL AREA- NIGHT
Lee walks past the bubbling hot tub over to the arcade machines,
where Connor is sitting on some steps.
CONNOR
(looks up as Lee nears)
