As Willow and Buffy left the Scooby meeting, Xander stopped to talk to Giles.
"Giles," Xander said, "maybe we're going about this all wrong. Maybe we should use abilities we've already seen to deal with Adam."
"What did you have in mind?"
The young man explained his plan to the sorcerer.
"Giles," Buffy said, excited. "Riley just told me that Adam was delivered to the initiative with a huge steel girder wrapped tightly around him. And is that Xander?"
"Yes," said Giles.
"Why is he flying in blue long underwear?"
"He's rescuing a kitten from a tree. I used the spell Ethan Rayne used on Halloween to turn him into Superman, and told him about the evil cyborg the military was having problems with."
"Are you gonna turn him back into Xander?"
"I thought I'd wait 'til he landed with the kitten."
"Good thought."
"Giles," Buffy said, "you're holding a bust of Janus in your hands, and Xander's not around. Care to explain?"
"Superman is dumping the evil goddess into the sun, so she can't bother anyone. Being a goddess, it won't hurt her."
"Yes," said Willow, "but the evil goddess is also a medical student! A human being who will be vaporized!"
"Please don't mention that to Xander until after I break the bust."
