Xander stepped into the room, uncertain just why he had been sent to find Logan's protege. One part wondered just how dangerous a girl called 'Kitty' could be, except… well, Kitty was still better than 'Buffy'.
"errr… Kitty?" He called into the computer lab. The lower levels gave him the creeps.
"Yeah?" A head poked through the wall.
"Ah!" Xander jumped, staring at her. She looked like a ghost, or Willow on that Halloween. "Don't do that…. Something about a physics lesson? You're late."
"Don't do what?" She stepped out of the wall, her body phasing through as if it was insubstantial. The truth was that Kitty was the insubstantial one.
"Remember, Sunnydale? How am I supposed to know if you're phasing, or if something came along and killed you?" Xander grumbled.
"Yeah, like that's going to happen. How many people do you know that have died anyhow?"
"When I left Sunnydale, we'd lost twenty kids out of my grade. It had been a good couple years." He winced as he remembered everything.
"Ohhh, sorry, I didn't…." She winced. "Not helping, am I?"
"Could be worse." Xander shrugged. "Let's just go back upstairs."
"Sure." Kitty smiled at him.
It helped.
