Xander frowned, not understanding the way some of the girls at the school were glaring at him. He really couldn't come up with anything that he'd done, and since he was dressed in a pair of jeans and one of the school's long sleeved tee shirts, his clothing couldn't be the problem. Basically, he was left clueless.
"Hey, what's with the look?" The cheerful voice of Jubilee, the only other Californian, made Xander smile.
"I keep getting glares. Like her." Xander pointed at one of the glaring girls, thinking that her name was Tabitha. "And I have no clue why."
"I know why." Jubilee's giggle was far too amused.
"Why?" Xander wasn't sure if he'd like the answer.
"Northstar. He finally 'fessed up to why he wasn't flirting back." Her voice was teasing.
"So the guy that half the girls are flirting with talked. How's that make them glare at me?" Xander asked.
"He said there was only one student that he'd be interested in a relationship with, and that you didn't seem interested." She was smirking.
"He's gay?!?" Xander gasped, having a flashback to his talk with Larry.
"Yeah."
"But… but…" Xander felt stunned, and worried. "I'm not gay."
footnote: Northstar was (this may be outdated as a side effect of the last few years...) the only openly seriously gay superhero. Not to be confused with pulling the 'I may be gay' to chase away an now-ex. He was a member of Alpha Flight, but has since joined the X-Men.
